About Barry

Barry Minoff has been chairman of his family’s business, Kichler Lighting (based in Cleveland Ohio), since 1997. Barry’s career at Kichler began at the age of 13, spending his summers working at the family business. Barry received his degree in business from Ohio State University and quickly helped to grow the small company into the world’s largest manufacturer of decorative lighting.

Barry has earned numerous business awards including being named Ohio entrepreneur of the year in 1996 by Ernst and Young, Nasdag, and USA Today. He has received the American lighting association’s pillar of the industry award in 2003. And his family has been inducted into the case Western Reserve University’s family business hall of fame in 1995.

Currently Barry serves as a board member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum. Past board affiliations include playhouse square (Cleveland’s theater district), the world presidents organization and other non profits.

In 2009, Barry was inducted into his high schools gallery of success. The award reads;
